Our Team
Richard W. Ireland, Chairman
Mr. Ireland is Chairman of Valley Forge Investment Corporation (VFIC). Before founding VFIC in 1970, Dick had a successful career in sales beginning with Johnson and Johnson in 1959. In 1964, Dick joined Merrill Lynch as a stockbroker.
Dick earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from LaSalle University.
Brian G. McElwee, President
Mr. McElwee is President of Valley Forge Investment Corporation (VFIC). Brian has been with VFIC since 1972, initially leading the company’s real estate business, including its investments in 20 shopping centers and 8 hotels during his tenure, and later actively focusing on VFIC’s corporate investments as well. Brian is the founding Chairman of Independence Mission Schools, a non-profit network of 15 independent Catholic schools operating across the city of Philadelphia. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS), and was the founding Co-Chair of KOP-BID, a not-for-profit organization that collaborated with both private and public partners to improve the economic environment in King of Prussia.
Brian earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Business Administration from Drexel University.
Vincent Russomagno, Principal
Mr. Russomagno is a principal of Valley Forge Investment Corporation (VFIC). Vince’s relationship with VFIC stretches back 25 years. Vince has founded numerous successful national companies in the healthcare, retail, and sports industries. He has extensive experience leading large and mid-cap companies as well as hundreds of millions in mergers and acquisitions.
Vince earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Brandeis University.
Kathleen Friel, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Friel is Chief Financial Officer of Valley Forge Investment Corporation (VFIC). As CFO, Kathy is responsible for the accounting and financial operations, tax functions, and human resources. In addition, she provides guidance and oversight to the accounting and tax functions for VFIC’s partner companies. Kathy joined the company in 1986, starting her VFIC career in the hotel management division. In 1988, she joined the corporate team at VFIC and built the centralized accounting division.
Kathy is a CPA and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Neumann College and her Master’s degree in Taxation from Villanova University.
Jarrett Miller, Vice President
Mr. Miller is a Vice President at Valley Forge Investment Corporation (VFIC). In this role, Jarrett helps underwrite and manage VFIC’s investments in accordance with the budget and opportunity. He coordinates closely with VFIC’s partner companies and investors as they work towards their unique goals. Jarrett is the newest addition to the team, joining the company in 2022. Before VFIC, Jarrett was a Manager at Rockwell Development Group.
Jarrett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University.
